About 10x8 Photography Training
Local Photography Courses
Our local photography courses are all about helping you to take better photographs. It’s not about expensive kit or understanding the inner workings of your camera, because it’s all about the end result. We’re photographers ourselves and we want to share our knowledge and experience to help you improve your photography. We’ve been running photography training courses since 2011 and have had the pleasure of sharing our skills and knowledge with hundreds of delegates.
Courses with us are short, rarely more than 3 to 4 hours. Many training providers run their courses over one or more whole days – by the afternoon, will you remember everything from the morning session? Our courses are friendly and packed with useful hints and tips and we aim to keep the jargon and technical terminology out of our courses. We adapt to suit the learning style of those attending our courses, meaning you get the most out of the session.
For All Ages
The courses are suitable for everyone, all ages*, regardless of your current skill level. We cater for Digital SLR (DSLR) owners as well as digital compact, bridge and compact system cameras (CSC).
Based in North Cornwall, we run our courses at our office in Kilkhampton. We also provide 1 to 1 tuition, at a venue of your choice, if you prefer.
Adam Lee – Trainer
Our principal trainer, Adam, is a professional photographer, with skills in a variety of photographic genres: weddings to corporate, pets to landscapes, sports to portraits, still life to wildlife. In response to many people asking if he provided training and with a lack of local, affordable training courses, 10×8 Photography Training was born.
We’ve met with many camera owners who are frustrated with the results, that their often expensive investments are giving them. Many lack the confidence and understanding to move away from the “automatic” modes. They want to know what all those settings, menus, dials and buttons do – and how using more of the capabilities of their cameras will result in better photographs.
The user manuals that these cameras are supplied with often assume prior knowledge – f-stops, ISO and shutter speeds, composition, lighting, depth of field and so on. These manuals are often more of a reference guide than an “instruction” manual.
Adam has been around photography all his life, as his father too was a professional photographer. From his early days of film and darkrooms his interest has remained solid and is now firmly in the digital era and the use of computers and software in photography.
With a professional focus on weddings, portraits, corporate and events and a very keen interest in sports photography, mainly motorsport, Adam is rarely to be found without a camera nearby.
In addition to photography training, he also regularly provides training to groups, large and small, as well as on a one to one basis in topics outside of photography and thoroughly enjoys sharing his knowledge with others.
